team, since users were added to that node). Attempting to move the job fails because
two sign-offs are missing.

Comparing the job to the purchase order, he spots that masking and plugging was ordered
but missing from the recipe tree, and uses Edit Work Order Recipe to add the
missing masking step. He shows how clicking any step previews exactly what that operator's work
board will look like, then adds a racking photo (with markup circling a specific hole)
as a part number process node file so it will show up at racking every
time that part runs, and adds process node description notes for the masking team.

He opens Edit Part Number Specs to review every applied spec and its parameters (e.g.,
soap clean time, rinse duration), edits a rinse parameter's minimum and maximum, and confirms the
change is reflected. He then passes the contract review; once the anodizing team's sign-off is
also passed, the job is unblocked and moves to the next step. He closes with
live Q&A on permissions, an upcoming historical contract review feature for closed work orders, part
number PDF templates, and the difference between work order files, part number files, and process
node files.

[00:09] And we will get started here on a masterclass on contract review.

[00:14] So, contract review is a very powerful tool in Steelhead, and there's quite a few
different ways it can be used, and, and it can be used across all different
industries and shop types.

[00:26] So definitely throughout the meeting, feel free to jump in at any time, whether it's
in the chat, and we can get to the chat as we go.

[00:34] But I would highly recommend just unmuting yourself and, and, drop it in your question
that way to keep the communication going two ways.

[00:43] So definitely feel free to use either and, unmute yourself if you have any questions.

[00:49] So today we'll go over a contract review introduction, just a quick slide on what
we'll cover through this presentation.

[00:56] And then we'll actually walk through a demonstration in the hatchery domain.

[01:00] And then at the end of the, presentation, we'll have time for question and questions
and answers, that we didn't get to during the initial presentation.

[01:10] My name is David Raisanen.

[01:11] I am a deployment engineer with Steelhead based out of our Minnesota office.

[01:18] So contract review and Steelhead can be used in a variety of ways.

[01:22] So there's the, the work boards and work part screen, which I'll show you, in
general with the contract review step or node and Steelhead.

[01:31] You can see every step of the process, all operator instructions, all specs, anything that
will be seen in Steelhead throughout the whole process.

[01:41] You can see at contract review, you can also edit any of these things.

[01:45] So if you need to make a change to operator instructions or a spec parameter
or a time and tank, whatever it might be, you can adjust that at time
of contract review.

[01:55] So it's a, a very good last kind of checkpoint before you begin production.

[02:01] And again, it can be used in any situation.

[02:04] If you're heavy spec driven, it's a great time to review your specs if you
don't do any specs, but you just like a, a review after order entry to
make sure the part number and process is set up correctly.

[02:16] Contract review is a, is a great step to add to any of your processes.

[02:21] So with contract review, you can assign certain users who must sign off on it
before it can be moved on.

[02:27] On the contract review step on the work boards, there's a sidebar and recipe tree
to see all steps.

[02:34] The parts will go through.

[02:35] And then there's things such as the part number data, part process, node specific instruction.

[02:41] So just a quick side note on process nodes, if that term is confusing to
you.

[02:46] A process node and Steelhead is, is basically a step of the process.

[02:50] So if you have masking, there'll be a masking process node in Steelhead, there's a
work order comment section, so maybe you wanna make a comment specific to that order
and not specific to the part number.

[03:04] You can make a comment for anyone down the line to see.

[03:09] I've mentioned specs quite a few times already.

[03:11] This is a great chance to view all applied specs and all parameters that, the
specs will be running to.

[03:20] So that is just a quick overview.

[03:23] Most of this, class here will be spent within Steelhead showing how to set it
up and, go over any questions on, on the setup afterwards.

[03:33] Any initial questions before we dive into Steelhead.

[03:39] And again, feel free to to use the chat or unmute yourself and we can
walk through it, whatever you have on your mind.

[04:03] This is the, the main homepage, that I'm sure many of you have seen, whether
in demos or, or playing around with it on, on your own.

[04:12] [opens the contract review dashboard] So with contract review, there is a contract review dashboard that that many do use.

[04:18] This shows all pending contract reviews.

[04:21] It shows the part number work order, sales order customer, and the specs assigned.

[04:27] So this is one spot you can go to to quickly see all pending contract
reviews.

[04:32] And you can also do your contract reviews from this page here by simply clicking
on review.

[04:38] And we'll dive more into this after the, setup portion of it.

[04:43] So that is on the homepage contract review.

[04:48] With this, with this setup, it'll be on the process tree itself.

[04:51] [opens the process tree for the anodizing process] So I have, processes and we'll just go to this anodizing two process here.

[04:57] So we have a whole setup of process nodes that I mentioned.

[05:02] So receiving contract review is the second one here.

[05:05] So when you add this node to your process, it has its own type.

[05:09] [adds a contract review node to the process] It's a contract review node type, and this allows you to access all of the
contract review functionality With within the node itself.

[05:21] You can add users, so who should be able to sign off on contract review.

[05:25] So this will have your full user list and you can assign any amount of
users that you want to be able to sign off on it, and any one
of them can go in there and move the job along.

[05:35] [adds users who can sign off on contract review] So if I wanted to add myself, and maybe we'll add Dean, so us two,
dean or myself would be able to sign off on this contract review step and
allow parts to move on to the rest of the process.

[05:52] Besides setting up a contractor review node, you can also assign users to any step
of the process.

[05:59] [adds a user to the blasting node] So if I wanted blasting a blasting user to sign off on the job before
we move it into production, I can go to the blasting node and add a
user.

[06:08] So not change the type, but just add a user and maybe Chet is our
blasting lead.

[06:14] So we need Chet to review this job, at contract review before we move it
into production.

[06:21] So that would require Chet to go in there and pass the blasting sign off
on contract review.

[06:28] So the two things with setup on the process are, whether you want a contract
review node.

[06:34] So a lot of times this will probably, it can come at any point of
the process, but most often will usually be at the beginning when, you wanna review
a job before it moves into production.

[06:45] You can also assign a a user to a node.

[06:49] So, like blasting for example, we added che.

[06:52] So that would require CHE to sign off on the, the blasting sign off at
contract review before we can begin the job.

[07:02] Any initial questions on, on the setup portion of it?

[07:12] All righty. So that is on the process tree setup with the contract review node
type.

[07:19] And then we also have assigning users to nodes.

[07:22] We, I have this other process here that we'll use for this, work order example
today where we have a contract review node at the beginning of the process, and
then we assign users to the anodizing node.

[07:38] So we want anodizing to sign off.

[07:41] It could be any of the anodizing team to sign off on the job before
we move it along.

[07:49] [creates a work order for the anodizing process] So I have created a work order, to go through the anodizing process.

[07:54] And if I go to work boards, so again, we could either go to contract
review or we can also create a work board for contract review.

[08:02] [opens the contract review work board] So if I go to the contract review work board, we have our orders start
to stack up here that we need to move along.

[08:09] The icon here on the left shows a contract review, is required on this job.

[08:15] So we have this job for BAE systems.

[08:17] We see it's a new part, so maybe we wanna make, careful, careful look at
this one.

[08:23] It's a new part. First time running it quantity.

[08:26] This is the typical work board view.

[08:28] And we just added one for specific to contract review.

[08:35] [opens the contract review screen for the job] So if I go to work, these parts here is the contract review screen.

[08:39] So this screen will be different than any of your other work boards.

[08:43] If I just do a quick comparison of a, of a standard work board, you
see just one screen here related to that step.

[08:51] The contract review work board will give you everything that this, these parts are gonna
go through.

[08:56] So we see work order files.

[08:58] We have a nice, purchase order here, so we can review that when we do
our, our review of this job.

[09:04] [shows the recipe tree of process steps] You can see every step I mentioned the recipe tree.

[09:07] This shows every step this job is gonna go through starting at receiving, which we
already clicked through to contract review, which we're at now.

[09:15] And then it'll go into the anodizing portion of the job.

[09:18] And you see this little icon here as we added a few users to the
anodizing node, to require a sign off there before the job is moved along.

[09:30] So this shows every step the job will go through on the left side.

[09:34] [clicks into contract review for additional detail] And then here, if I click on contract review, you'll get some additional information.

[09:39] So you have all applied specs, you have the contract sign-offs required.

[09:44] So we have the contract review sign off, and then the anodized sign off as
we added users to the anodized step itself.

[09:52] [tries to move the job and is blocked by missing sign-offs] So before we can, if I tried to move this job along right now, I
cannot move it, it stopped by two failing or missing contract reviews.

[10:04] So this is where the, the functionality of contract view is, is extremely powerful.

[10:08] Whether it's adding instructions for the operators, checking that your job matches the purchase order,
checking that all steps are included, checking that the, the specs are accurate, all of
that can be done on this one screen, this one dashboard here.

[10:24] So, first if, if I'm doing a review of a job, very naturally I'd want
to compare it to the purchase order.

[10:31] [compares the job to the purchase order] So I might just click do a, a glance here.

[10:33] I see it's black anodized per mil, A 6 2 5.

[10:37] I see we have applied that spec. That's good.

[10:40] There's masking and plugging included on the po, but I do not see masking and
plugging on our recipe tree.

[10:47] So that'd be a, a red flag for me right there.

[10:49] That this job was not set up correctly at order entry.

[10:53] [edits the work order recipe] So, I can go down to the bottom of the screen here and edit the
work order recipe.

[10:59] So we've missed masking on this job, but we caught it here before production.

[11:04] So I'm gonna go in and edit the recipe for this job.

[11:07] So you have these options here of removing a step, adding a new node, or
adding a node branch.

[11:15] So the node branch would be adding a branch to anodizing, whereas a new node
is, is a whole new step of the process.

[11:22] [adds the missing masking step] So I'm gonna add in our masking step And select the, the masking type here.

[11:32] We'll go plug and it bumped it down here below anodize and bump this up
wherever you want it in the process.

[11:40] We'll go right to, to masking and plug in here after contract review.

[11:45] So that would be a, a good catch by the contract review team viewing the
po they see that there should be masking and plugging on this job, viewed the
recipe tree on the left side and, and saw that it was missing.

[11:56] And, and we can add that in.

[11:59] So now on the, we have the spec, we have masking and plugging.

[12:03] We see quantity 12 and quantity 12.

[12:06] [previews the masking operator's work board] So everything's looking good. Now, there, if you wanted to add any instructions for your
operators, you can click on any step of the process and see what their work
board looks like.

[12:17] So masking and plugging, this is what the masking operator will see on his work
board when he opens up that job once it, once it gets to him.

[12:26] Same thing at racking.

[12:28] [opens the racking work board] So you have the racking work board, and maybe we wanna add in a picture
of racking for them to view when that, when that job gets there.

[12:36] So I could go to the bottom right corner and you have these options for,
obviously production related things such as quality holds or work order notes or labels.

[12:47] But I'm gonna go to part number process, node file.

[12:51] [uploads a racking photo] So that's saying I'm gonna add a file to that step of the process And
I can add in a racking photo to show how these parts should be racked.

[13:03] Along with adding a picture, you can use steelheads markup function.

[13:07] Maybe there's a specific area they need to pay attention to.

[13:10] We need to rack through these holes.

[13:12] [marks up the racking photo] So I'm gonna circle this hole and, and add that in.

[13:19] So now at when these parts get to racking, the racking team will have this
photo available on their work board.

[13:26] They'll see the picture, they'll see the markup, and that's added from right from this
contract review screen.

[13:32] Instead of having to navigate to the part number page.

[13:37] Same thing with instructions.

[13:39] If you needed to add instructions to a certain step, let's say, so we've added
this masking step, and we see there's already instructions for plug all holes for this
part number.

[13:50] [adds notes to the masking step] If you needed to add any additional notes, you can use the part number process
node description.

[13:55] So similar to the process node file, this will add a description or notes to
that process step.

[14:02] So we have plug all holes and maybe you just add a do carefully or
whatever you wanna add for notes for your masker or your masking team.

[14:11] Those will show up on their work boards, when these parts arrive.

[14:18] So that's adding part number process node, files and descriptions for your operators.

[14:25] Again, this screen here, anything you click on, this is exactly what the operator is
gonna see when these parts are at their step.

[14:33] Can also view all specs that are applied.

[14:35] All spec fields that are applied on a process node step.

[14:39] So we have soap clean here. I can view the soap clean time.

[14:42] You see a minimum of five minutes, 10 seconds, maximum of 10 minutes.

[14:47] Can see that they're gonna, have to input a soap clean temperature.

[14:52] So all these are are viewable on the process node itself.

[14:56] [opens edit part number specs] And we can also go back to the contract review node and do edit part
number specs.

[15:03] So this is a, a great chance if you're, working a lot with specs and
spec parameters.

[15:09] If I do edit part number specs, I can see all of these specs that
are applied on this part number, what's gonna be applied on this job.

[15:17] So we see we have this nadcap anodizing spec that that is referenced and used.

[15:22] And this is that soap clean time.

[15:23] We're looking at five minutes, 10 seconds.

[15:26] You see rinses, maybe we know this one should have a, a much higher rinse.

[15:32] [edits the spec parameter for rinse time] You can, if you have, spec editing permissions, you can come in and edit the
spec parameter.

[15:39] And let's say this one should be a minimum of 40 seconds in a max
of a of one minute.

[15:48] So this, we want a little bit more rinse on this, on these parts.

[15:51] We can change the spec field parameter at contract review.

[15:58] You can also scroll down and, and view all the parameters on the spec.

[16:01] This one obviously has a a lot of inputs as it's a anodizing job going
through a lot of different tanks.

[16:08] You have minimum targets, maximums, you can just do a quick scroll through and view
all the values.

[16:14] And again, you can change any, any of these spec field parameters, here at contract
review.

[16:27] [finishes and saves the spec edit] So I think that looks good. I can do finish.

[16:29] And now we've, edited that spec parameter for, for the rinse, soap, clean rinse.

[16:38] So again, that was through edit, part number specs, and then going down to the,
spec field parameters.

[16:52] [refreshes to confirm the spec update] So I'm gonna do a quick refresh here and we can take a look at
the, the spec field update on soak, clean rinse.

[17:02] You see our, our minimum has changed to 40 seconds.

[17:05] Maximum is now a minute. So that's good.

[17:07] That's what they'll see on their scanner when these parts get to the, to the
soak clean rinse tank.

[17:16] So just a, a quick recap of, of what we've gone over on this contract
review screen here so far.

[17:22] You can view the purchase order as order entry.

[17:26] Added this to the work order.

[17:27] So now this is a, a chance to review.

[17:29] We saw masking and plugging.

[17:31] So we use the edit work order recipe feature here to add the masking step
to the process.

[17:37] You can add notes files to any step of the process.

[17:41] So we added a racking photo for the racking team.

[17:44] We added masking notes for the masking team.

[17:48] And then you can also edit the part number specs on this screen.

[17:52] So we edited the soap clean rinse two time.

[17:56] 'cause we knew that one should have a, a higher rinse than it currently is
set up for.

[18:03] [passes the contract review] So once all of this is done, you, you've confirmed everything on your end, you
can pass the contract review or fail the contract review.

[18:13] So if you fail it, you won't be able to move the parts along.

[18:16] If you pass it, that's saying you, you've reviewed everything in, in contract review, it
looks good.

[18:21] Everything is set up correctly.

[18:25] [shows the anodized sign-off unblocking the job] So I'm gonna pass that and, Chuck has, has passed the, anodized portion he was
reviewing on his end.

[18:34] So now we're able to move the parts along to the next step of the
process.

[18:38] We don't see that blocker anymore for, re required contract review.

[18:49] Any questions on, I know I've covered a lot here on, on this screen.

[18:53] Any questions on the, contract review dashboard and any of, any of the functionality of
this page here?

[19:02] Yeah, I was wondering a bit about those permissions you mentioned, do they tie in
with the permissions on other modules of the site, like specs and timer dashboard and
what have you?

[19:14] Yes. Yeah, so any parameter, like if you don't have permission to, to edit specs
or work with specs, you shouldn't have you, you won't be able to edit specs
on, on contract review either.

[19:24] Oh, on. And yeah, so viewing contract review as well, like this dashboard here is
is permission based on who can read contract review?

[19:35] Good question.

[19:40] So a question on a buy offs, I've noticed I love this feature.

[19:44] I love that I can see everything.

[19:46] But once the, work orders are closed, I lose all visibility and all my objective
evidence is gone.

[19:51] That contract review is, is a bit warm.

[19:54] So you're saying, you do contract review on an active order, you move that, those
parts all the way through, you're finished up and then you, you lose that tracking?

[20:03] Yes. And I don't, I don't know of any other way to actually look at
a traveler as a whole like this in the system, which is kind of critical
during NAB across the audits and Yeah.

[20:13] Yeah, yeah. Great. Great question. Great point.

[20:17] So with with contract review, there's, there's actually a feature currently being built out on
looking at contract reviews for past work orders, that that's exactly the situation you're, you're
discussing there.

[20:31] So that is a feature being built.

[20:33] And then a current one that can be used as a part number template can
be built out.

[20:39] On the part number level. There's the open PDF.

[20:42] So whatever, kind of information you need on, on a part number level, you can,
we can, customize a PDF for you to show all spec measurements, all process steps,
notes, and that was kind of built out for that nadcap area, being able to
print out or view a, a processing sheet of what a part number goes through.

[21:05] But as far as a, on a work order level, that, historical contract review feature
will be exactly what you're describing.

[21:13] Do you know, when that feature is gonna be released?

[21:16] I don't have a, I don't have a date.

[21:19] I don't know an exact date, but I, I believe it should be upcoming here,
hopefully in the next month or so.

[21:25] Okay, thank you. David, could we put that, that sign off on the cert, the
quality cert as well to say like, Hey, Chet signed off and David signed off
on a Tuesday, that contractor review sign off, correct?

[21:39] Yeah, that should be if you, yeah, if you wanted to bring that in as
a native field on, on a cert.

[21:45] I, I believe that should be possible.

[21:47] I'll have to check the cert payload.

[21:50] But I, I'm sure that's something we can add in if it's already not possible
when the contractor review is signed and who signed up.

[21:57] Perfect.

[22:03] Any other questions on, on this contract review dashboard here?

[22:13] And then just a, a reminder on the process setup itself, there's the, the two
options of either a contract review node type, or just adding users to, to a
step.

[22:28] So if you wanted the blasting team, or maybe you have a lead and dere
that should review those instructions before the job is released, you can simply add users
to the node on who has to sign off on it before it's moved along.

[22:45] So setup is, is very easy and, and very controllable on on who can do
these things.

[22:59] Anyone have a an example of, of current contract review you do now and, and
maybe, if this seems to match what, what you do or if there's any other
questions you have on how your workflow would fit in here, how about those u
contract review users?

[23:23] Are they allowed to manage the opt-in and opt-outs that are right under the user
selection page On the process setup?

[23:31] Yeah, they can can contract review users manage and outs on the pro on the
menu listed there, yeah. On, on who can do the contract review. Mm-Hmm. Yeah.

[23:45] So that's gonna come down to the same permissions.

[23:48] If you have permissions to write process nodes and, have permission, have the right permission
set up you, yeah, they'll be able to choose who can, who can sign off
on it.

[24:10] All righty. Yeah. So the, the most, haven't seen a a, an industry or a,
a job shop that can't use contract review.

[24:19] I think everyone can use it.

[24:20] It's just a matter of if you wanna include it.

[24:23] So there's all, obviously it, it can come down to very specifics of times and
tanks or temperatures, or it can be just as basic as just, another review step
of a recipe tree, a second check for qualified people who know the processes and
they can review it before the parts are moved into production and released to the
operators.

[24:44] It's a great chance to catch mistakes, catch missing information, and also add any instructions,
files, pictures you want, such as adding a picture of rack parts for the racking
team to see exactly how to, how to do their job.

[25:01] It's also a great chance, I know most shops are comparing one-to-one to the purchase
order.

[25:06] It's a great chance to do a, a final review of the purchase order and
make sure you have everything, matching on your end to, to what the customer is
expecting.

[25:22] All righty. Any other questions on, on this, before we just, release it to the,
to everyone for, for q and a?

[25:34] Where, where you showed that you can add that photo that shows the racking?

[25:40] Yeah. Yep. Is it possible that that is, that we can tie that photo to
that part number and any time that part is on an order, it automatically puts
that up there.

[25:52] So we don't have to do that every time we see it because we do
have a lot of repeat work.

[25:56] Yeah. Yeah. Well that's a great question.

[25:59] So that's exactly what this is doing here is this racking picture will show up
at racking every time this BP 1 23 part number comes through.

[26:09] Okay, perfect. So yeah, this is a, a part number process node file.

[26:13] So this will be on the part number every time when it gets to racking.

[26:18] The other options on uploading files here, you have a work order file.

[26:24] So if you wanted a file just for this order, you could add a work
order file and then it would, it wouldn't follow that part number anymore.

[26:31] You can add a part number file.

[26:34] This would show up at every step of the process.

[26:36] So this would commonly be used just a picture of the part, here's what the
part looks like, and you would see that at every step, making sure you're working
with the right parts.

[26:45] So you do have the option to add, part number as a whole, part number
to a specific step.

[26:52] Otherwise you can add a file just to the work order.

[26:55] But that's, a general overview of of contract review and Steelhead.

[27:00] Again, an extremely powerful tool to, review jobs before you release to production and allow
the experts to sign off on it before, before the operators see the parts.
