My name is Sarah Thomas, and I am the office manager at Anchor Bay Powder Coat, and our plant runs on Steelhead. I handle all the administrative duties here, anything from financial to HR to customer relations.
We needed to improve the systems we were using as we grew larger because it just got to be too much. We had too much paper sitting everywhere, and to try to file through all of that to find what you need just isn't very time efficient. So, by having Steelhead and being able to put all the documents that we need in one place, to be able to locate them and find them as quickly as possible, has helped us a lot.
I like that Steelhead can take my invoicing that I do in their software programming and convert it automatically to QuickBooks. I'm able to also see when the customers are emailed their invoices and when the customers have opened the invoices, and also I can tell when the invoice itself gets sent over to QuickBooks.
One of the biggest values I think Steelhead provides for us is traceability—to be able to see the job move through each step and to be able to tell which employee moved it through the steps. So, if we need to find out if something was done correctly, we can always look back and see which operator moved the part and make sure that the processes are done correctly.
It's very easy to use. I didn't have a hard time learning it. Once you do it a few times, you can do it quickly, and everything is in one place.
