Date published August 12, 2026
Duration 3:53
Video type Feature walkthrough / Release walkthrough
Audience Production managers and floor operators who run Workboards day to day, including shops using Scheduling
In one sentence See how Steelhead Workboards gives manufacturers real-time production floor visibility, letting operators track priority jobs,
see what's scheduled next, and configure the board to match how their floor works.
What this video covers This walkthrough tours the refreshed Workboards experience in Steelhead, the most-visited page in the platform,
covering board navigation, the Rack filter, and the work parts dialog on a single card.

It covers Alert Severities and the colored operator alert banner, the multi-select action bar along
the bottom of the screen, and how the Move Parts button responds to quality hold.

It covers Workboard Settings edit mode for adding and rearranging cards and setting card color,
new part-grouping options, collapse and expand controls, and creating a certification directly from a card.

It closes with Display Settings (Show Clocked-In Operators, Station Labor Timer, collapse defaults, Quantity Display),
archiving a Workboard with View Archived, the Update All To control in All Workboard Settings,
and Visible Station Task Types on Workboards for shops using Scheduling.
Problem it solves Production managers and floor operators need one screen that shows what to run next, what's
urgent, and who's working it, without leaving Workboards to check Scheduling, hunt for a setting,
or dig through menus to find a rarely-used board.

Transcript [00:00] Workboards is the most visited page in Steelhead, and it just got updated. Let's walk
through what makes it faster, easier to use, and configurable to your needs.

[00:10] [opens a workboard] Clicking into the Workboards tile and opening up a workboard, you'll notice a few additions.
A couple of top actions here.

[00:16] [shows a scheduled station task card] Scheduled station tasks such as downtime, lunch breaks, color changeovers, can be configured to appear
on the card for those using scheduling.

[00:23] [opens the workboard picker dropdown] Use the dropdown to navigate to other workboards, or use the arrows to jump to
the next or previous board, matching the exact order you set.

[00:30] [selects Rack from the filter dropdown] An added filter here allows you to search by rack.

[00:34] Hit enter on your keyboard and the work parts dialog will open for that part.

[00:39] [opens the work parts actions menu] Here, a couple of adjustments. The Move Parts button will be hidden for parts on
quality hold, and the option to unrack parts has also been added to this caret
menu.

[00:49] [opens the part number recipe node description] When you're editing a part number recipe node description, there is now the option to
add an alert banner on that part. Pick an existing severity or create new.

[01:00] [clicks the pencil icon] Click the pencil icon to manage those alert severities.

[01:05] And once it's saved, your message appears as a colored alert banner on that part.

[01:10] Along the top of a workboard, your other options are similar, with the addition of
the View All Stations Schedule icon for shops using scheduling.

[01:18] [toggles multi-select and opens Group Like Parts] Toggle all cards multi-select here, and Group Like Parts icon is here.

[01:23] [selects multiple parts] When you select multiple parts, you'll now see all the action items you're used to
pop up along the bottom of your screen. You also get a summary of selected
items listed here.

[01:32] The Move button is context sensitive, swapping Move for Rack options as applicable. And again,
if parts are on quality hold, you will not see the Move button. Close or
deselect when you're done.

[01:44] [clicks the quality hold icon on a card] Any card that holds items on quality hold will display this icon. Click it to
view them. Click again to display all parts.

[01:51] [opens Workboard Settings edit mode] Moving on to the workboard settings. Jump into edit mode.

[01:55] [adds a new card, edits a card] Add new cards here or here. Move things around using the arrows, or use the
individual card edit where you can now change the card color.

[02:07] Submit and close edit mode.

[02:11] [opens the group-by menu] New part grouping options on a card are Next Station, Part Group, Received Batch/Lot Number,
and a Schedule Task, as well as Treatment Group options.

[02:24] [clicks the collapse/expand icons] Use the icons to quickly collapse and expand all groups or all parts. You can
then click to expand individual items as needed.

[02:32] [clicks the Create Certificate icon] Where applicable, you can create certs directly from the card with this icon.

[02:35] [opens Display Settings] You can also use the settings Display Settings to adjust defaults as far as what
you want displayed.

[02:42] Turn on Show Clocked In Operators to see who is actively working on a part
account right from the card. Toggle the Station Labor Timer to display or not as
needed.

[02:50] Choose whether you want parts, groups, and racks collapsed by default. And here you can
also choose your quantity display, count, weight, or both.

[03:00] [opens All Parts Transfers] Back to the workboards homepage. A history icon in the header opens all parts transfers,
which is now paged for fast loading.

[03:08] Workboards you are done with can be archived here. The View Archived toggle displays those
boards. Use Unarchive as needed.

[03:18] [opens All Workboard Settings] Opening up the hamburger menu in all workboard settings, you can adjust items per workboard.

[03:23] Or use the Update All To control and confirm to toggle a setting to on
or off for all workboards at once.

[03:31] And if your shop uses scheduling, one more update for you.

[03:34] [toggles Visible Station Task Types] Under Visible Station Task Types on Workboards, toggle which station task types you want visible
for those scheduled tasks to show up as cards right on the workboards.

[03:45] And that's the workboards update. Faster, easier, and ready for you to configure.
