all [Music] right So whenever you're ready Holly you can All right Awesome Thanks Susie Uh I I think we can get kicked off here Thank you to everybody here for attending this month's master class My name is Holly Stove I'm a deployment leader at Steelhead Technologies and I'm going to be covering prioritization during our half hour together here Uh first up on the agenda I'm going to talk about what the prioritization module is in Steelhead and how it works So how to set up your shot priority if it's not already set up and how to navigate some of the settings in there Second I'm just going to show you station versus global priority So there's a difference there and the use for each one I'm also going to touch on how jobs are ordered or ranked through dragging and dropping them and how that order is visible to the operators through their workboards Uh I'm also going to touch on some of the tactics for ordering jobs such as how you can search it or filter it through some of things like deadlines or treatments Um and then we're going to leave about 10 minutes of room for questions at the end And at that point you can unmute yourself ask as many questions as you want Um if you have any related to what I'm talking about before that or or any during the talk please throw any of them in the chat Uh I'll try to monitor that as best as I can through my talk But uh yeah just shout out any remaining questions at the end and I'll answer those then So uh the module in steelhead of prioritization is all about giving you control of the order of jobs in your shop So the the order in which jobs are to be processed Once they're ordered through prioritization your operators can then see that order on their workboards So they have a clear schedule for the day Um many of you guys might have a daily or or weekly meeting about priority jobs already in your shop So you'll just be able to add that order into the priority model Um but you probably don't have enough time to talk through the exact order of everything on your floor Uh maybe just the hot stuff um or the you know stuff your guys got to pay special attention to something like that Um but steelhead prioritization lets you order every job on the floor Um so as many as you want um but up to every job at every um part on the floor So operators aren't just guessing on the order after they finish uh what they need to for the day Uh or or stuff like that U then of course there's the the case where maybe the order completely changes halfway through the day Uh you know maybe a customer calls and it turns out they want their work by the end of the day or they wanted it yesterday and it's the first time you're hearing about that So of course you got to bump that job up or something else happens you got to completely redo your schedule Maybe you've already got it printed out Um and that's kind of hard to pass along to everybody in your shop especially if you got a bigger shop So the priority model will give you that flexibility to reflect those changes in real time Um but anyway ability to change around the order of the work in your shop is super useful Uh and it helps the operators know what their day is going to look like as well So moving into steel head here All right Um I'm going to go into prioritization here Sometimes it takes a little bit of time to to load but uh if you don't have prioritization set up this is what your prioritization is going to look like So you'll have to set that up first Um you'll click on this priority version and uh you'll go ahead and and give it a name new or or something else I currently have two set up I have a shop schedule and a shop schedule number two You can have as many priority versions as you want Um I guess just benefit of having two or more uh is if you need to reorder jobs without making live changes Um so if you have one set as your current um and then you have another schedule that's um completely different maybe uh say you ran out of a certain color powder or an oven's down or something you need to make a different plan or you need to make some sort of reordering changes without um having those reflected right then and there Um you're able to do that through a second version of your schedule Um and you can always just set that as the current right there But for this demo I'm just going to work off of our our current version All right So I guess a couple things to note in here Uh first and foremost we've got our prioritization table So at the very top uh we've got our global priorities and then um of a number one and all the way down are our station priorities Um in this table we're able to sort ascending uh or descending So if you want to alphabetize your stations um or just unselect that completely and all of these are are able to be filtered that way Um the green is just a signal of the the ratio of parts that you have prioritized So 67 out of 821 that's not a lot So our green line's going to be here Uh but if you have a 100% of the parts in that certain station prioritized or globally um you're going to see that green line move all the way um to the very end You're also able to see the last edit uh on that certain priority list and who made those changes Um so for this demo that's going to be me U but maybe you have a couple different schedulers in your shop Um and for accountability purposes this is necessary So uh I'm just going to go ahead and go through a couple of these things here Workflow control um so workflow control means that you can filter between certain tags if you have tags set up through your processes Um so let's say um I've got parts and I want to only be able to see parts from a certain tag through a certain tag So it's going to show the parts at that tag um and all the way until um the the last tag you select So maybe I want to see all my parts in in abrasion and all the way through quality inspection And so I can hit save and that's going to show me only those parts Um and so this filter is sticky So if you wanted to go in here order globally order through stations um you're able to see that And if you don't have a certain filter selected so um maybe it's not just abrasion maybe I want to see all the parts um from the very beginning of the process through quality inspection um I'm I'm able to do that as well only routed parts means that if you selected a a station routing um either part number or from the work order level um if you check this um that will only filter parts that have been routed Um I'm going to take this off now All right So some of you guys might only be able to see the global priorities list Um and you guys might not be able to to select any stations here This is because you don't have station prioritization set up So if you go to your stations under configuration you're able to set any of the stations you have as prioritizable Um so for example if I want to be able to prioritize parts um that are are going through my small cabinet you can check this box as prioritizable And then if you go back to prioritization you're able to see uh parts in that small cabinet and you're you're able to order those You can also set uh a deadline filter So if for example um you want to only see the parts um and work on the parts that are due you know Friday and and sooner so 20th 19th 18th and and and then on you're able to set a deadline All right Uh I'm I'm going to go ahead and show you what this looks like underneath the global priorities and then we'll get into uh station priorities So and click on this All right So I guess first thing to note here um it's split into two columns So work to be prioritized on the left and priority list on the right And there's different sorting and filtering options to choose from along the top So um we can go ahead and just try out a couple Um if I want to only see parts uh from customer 3M I'm available to a apply a filter here and you're only able to see those parts Um these are stackable as well So if you want to not only see only the customer 3M but you want to see u maybe all the parts that are going into uh your spray paint process um it's able to apply as many of these filters as you'd like uh to the jobs um that have yet to be prioritized Um another thing here is this search bar So through the global priority list you're able to search any of these columns from part numbers through uh to customers Um if you're trying to filter by a deadline it's better if you just do it up here Um because this deadline filter is only going to search that specific date Um if you want all dates from you know tomorrow backdated it would be better to do it here Um so for example um I can search up a a specific work order number 787 Um and it's going to search all of the numbers of of 787 Um I can also search labels too So this will be good for a lot of you guys that might have labeling uh for hot parts or rework parts I'm able to search those So I can search all of the parts um that have a rework label on them Um and also it searches parts that have rework in the work order Um really anything from part number to customer Um anything with this in the name So if I want to um drag and drop all of these results all the way to global priority list um I can do so by hitting condense results And then I can go ahead and and drag and drop those into our global priority list Um if you don't want to do that you can just drag and drop um individual ones here Um so anything that that you want to order you can drag and drop in the specific order and it's going to give it a rank Um so number one through you know however many parts you have um waiting to be prioritized Um but I'm going to do the example where I hit condense results and I'm going to drag them all the way to the end Um as you can see um I've actually already ordered all of my parts with the label hot Um so it goes all the way from from number one all the way down Um and each part number is on its its own rank Now you can also go to this uh work order view So the work order view is just going to show you the rank and and the work order number So like for example this work order 1 938 Um it's going to have rank number four and number five Um and I'm assuming it's because we have um two different part numbers on this work order Um and so you're able to see that as well if you like this view a little bit better Um all right And so once you're happy with this you can hit save changes And this is going to be visible on the workboard So your changes are going to be reflected uh to your operators here and just give you a little example and go to my workboards and uh let's go to batch powder coating I'm able to see um right here in the top left corner um a little number and then the letter G for global So these are all my global priorities in the order um in which we just ordered them So I don't know it's kind of hard to see there um but it's little letter G Um and we can see this throughout Um so if I go to hanging we're able to see um other priorities here So that's global priorities Um I'm going to go over some station priorities as well Uh so just a little thing to to note as far as as this station prioritization is going to trump global prioritization So if we have parts that are prioritized in stations so like for example this blast station if I take a look at these parts um they're going to jump up in priority Um and they're going to trump anything that we've prioritized globally So um I'm just doing a example with that batch powder booth I'm going to stick with that I'm going to go in here um and for my work to be prioritized um I can go ahead and uh sort by I can sort by a node So maybe I want to be able to prioritize everything in the the ready to powder code node And maybe I'm doing this for um my light green treatment So I'm going to apply another filter here I'm going to condense my results and I'm going to drag them into this uh batch powder booth and I can reorder as soon as I've dragged them in Um so maybe I want to add a couple more here And so this would be an example of you working through you know maybe a daily priority I want to get all my light green jobs done and then maybe my John Deere green and if I have time left uh I I want to go into this uh Cadillac gray or something like that Um and so I can hit save changes here And for this station now um I'm able to see that reflected on the workboards So if I go back to my batch powder coat batch powder coat um I can see now that these jobs have jumped up and they've actually got a little S for station next to them Um so they've jumped up before the global priorities So um we saw these last time as the as the top ones Um but now since we've prioritized through station uh we've have these that are now higher than the global priorities Um going back to prioritization here um and my batch powder booth You'll also notice um that any of these um treatments in question so you know red yellow and anything like that if the part has been routed to a different station through station priorities it's not going to appear on this work to be prioritized task list So if a part's undergone a treatment that this batch powder booth um provides it's no longer going to appear So the parts that have already gone and been treated with these colors and that maybe they're in inspection or ready to ship we're not able to prioritize them because they're out of the station Um also any parts that are not routed to this batch powder booth um you know maybe they get this powder yellow but maybe they go to the batch powder booth number two or number three Um if they're specifically routed to a different station we won't see those there So um just to note that that's important because until we move the part out of this station until we finish that part we can still prioritize it So anything with powder in process in here uh we can still prioritize that um through this batch powder booth priority list All right Um we're kind of on uh minute minute 20 here Uh I want to respect your guys' time as well Um I'm going to open it up to questions Anything specific about prioritization um globally stations uh anything like that that that you guys want to hear from and that I can answer I'm going to go ahead and open that up Do we have any specific questions so Holly can you hear me yes So let's say that someone went in and repri re reprioritized um you know some jobs and all a sudden the station leader says whoa whoa whoa we can't do that because of whatever Is there like a snapback feature or uh something that um you know can get you back to where you were before someone made those adjustments that's a great question Kevin um off this certain prioritization list Um there wouldn't be just a certain snapback That's why uh we've got the accountability of um if let me just share my screen again So we've got the edited at and the edited by Um so if it's something where you know maybe you've got a you know production team and then a sales team trying to to do both at the same time uh you're able to see certain people's edits Um but there's not a uh a cut and dry Let's you know take this back there Um I would suggest if there's something like that that's happening that there would be um a second version of this uh maybe you've got a production version and and a sales version and then you've got somebody who's able to reconcile the two Um or just I guess certain certain things that we don't want to make live or we want to make current um we do in that second version of the the schedule or maybe a different version uh because anything that we set on the current version is something that the operators will be able to see Uh so that's again maybe something that we got to take into account Um maybe somebody who shouldn't have access to that shouldn't have access to that Um but that's a that's a great question I would just um kind of make sure that what you what you have and what you order is what you actually want uh to be reflected on the workboards to your operators Yeah I mean the nice thing there is you can see who made those edits right so if you if you have someone else who wants to make a change I mean you can get with them and say "Hey should we really can we should we really do this or we're running out of blue paint and maybe we should put these ones till tomorrow till we get blue paint in and you know who to go talk to which is beautiful It's right there in the system." Exactly Okay Thank you Yeah of course Anybody else hello Can you hear me yes Hi Cassandra Hello Um another question Yes Um so can you see like from that prioritation like the the list would you be able to see which ones they have started working on or do we always have to go back to the workboard to see if they're actually working on that that's a great question So I'm assuming you mean um that the current node that the parts are in where they are on the shop floor That is correct Okay Yeah So you are able to see that Um I'm just going to continue with my my batch powder booth example So even though we're at the the station batch powder booth we also can see what node the parts are in currently Um so maybe the parts are routed to go to the patch batch powder booth but they're still at batch receiving Um that's okay We can still prioritize that work So when it hits that batch powder booth um in which order do we actually want to process those parts um but we're able to we're able to see that and we're able to filter by the node as well Um so not only can you do that um but also globally um it shows you the specific process and the the node So if you want to start working on um like for example something that's um you know e-code you can filter by that node and then you can also or sorry you can filter by that process and then you can also filter by a specific node Um so at any point like you know some of these parts are just staged um and some of these parts are all the way at quality inspection So it gives you live um live results of where that part actually is in the shop Um and then you can also prioritize accordingly Does that uh help answer your question it does Thank you so much Yeah of course Other questions if something is uh never removed from work to be prioritized it's never brought into the global priority or station priority list I'm assuming it's going to default to being prioritized by deadline Is that accurate for the workboard yep Yep So that's kind of like your your lowest level of prioritization It's going to default by deadline Um but then if you have anything in global or station prioritization um you're going to be able to to have that be bumped up Um and that's a good point Garrett So as we are prioritizing um just hopping over to my global priorities organically the work you have in work to be prioritized is going to sort by deadline So um this is kind of a an older demo domain So some some of the work we have is a little backdated in 2022 customers going to be really mad at us Um but we have deadlines here and then they're sorting from you know do the the um you know the quickest to do um I'm not sure what our last deadline is 1231 So um some work that's still not uh still not due And then uh we've got work that doesn't have a deadline So even throughout the prioritization module uh we can see the work that's sorted by deadline um up at the very top So um just to give you an example here if I go to any station maybe just anodizing line there's actually this little button here that says prioritize all And you can hit this and it's going to take all of your work from work to be prioritized into your priority list And this will sort it by deadline for you unless uh for some reason um you're going to want to reorder that So maybe this job goes up up here and um you you want to sort uh yourself from there So just keep that in mind Um deadlines are still important and and they're visible through prioritization as well So it's as simple as click and drag up uh to move it It's it's ordered top down and first one is the first one the operator hits right i mean simple as click and drag Yeah it's it's pretty simple So we've we've definitely made it simple for that reason Um it's it's a really nice feature to use So um just yeah keep that in mind Uh you're able to hit that arrow and hit prioritize all Um so if that's something that you wanted to take advantage of yeah I I would say anybody not using prioritization in your shop uh it's definitely super simple and super easy to do Um especially um even if you don't do it by station um maybe try out the the global feature and try sorting it by maybe the the label or um a certain certain thing that you want to sort it by Um and I'm not going to do it for all 800 here Um but you can hit the the arrow and it's going to drag it to the priority list sorted by deadline But if you have um a a specific um job that you want to kick up to the top for some reason um you can always just drag and drop that when you filter a or rank prioritize per process and then you go to prioritize the current node Let's say anything that precedes that whether it's uh like a mask and plug does that label show up on the the workboard for the prep and mask or only when it gets to that current node i hope you understand the question I I do So are if you're saying um like a like a station prioritization if you can see that before the station actually it actually hits that station Is that right so so let's say it goes prep and mask and then paint If you if you prioritize paint in the prep and mask you know how it has the um in in paint it has one G uh or sorry not G for global but one for S right does that show up in prep and mask or only when that job hits the the painters workboard yeah that's a great question And so using my batch powder booth example um I'm going to go back to my workboards and uh notice how for for batch powder booth we've got a station priority So we can see this uh ready for powder coat um because it's a staging node So we're able to see what's prioritized for our station However if we go back to you know for example batch powder hang Um so uh we're not able to see any of that station prioritization before it um passes through the the most previous station So maybe for some reason you know it gets racked and then it goes right to our uh right to our batch powder booth station Uh well we have a racking prioritization uh for our station So we're able to see that and then anything after racking maybe um you know gets hanged or prepped um we are not able to see station prioritization until it hits that that ready for and then it kicks into effect That's perfect Thank you Yeah All right guys Uh I thank you so much for joining Want to respect your time So uh we'll go ahead and end there Um any other questions or um if you need any other information Um let me go ahead and share this here Uh I just included contact information at the end So um if you have any other questions you can always email me Um and also we want you to get in touch for our future master classes So stay signed up Um thank you everyone for for joining here Awesome Thanks Have a great day Thanks Thank you Holly Thank you Hie Bye Bye Thank you
