I'm Ben Minger. I'm with Twin City Plating, been here 11 years. The company is almost 90 years old, and we specialize in electroless nickel. And we also do anodizing, gold plating, passivating, electropolish. We also kind of have a niche of small to medium-size manufacturers, quantities from 1 to 500 — sometimes we do more, but mostly that's our bread and butter. Expediting and being fast on our toes is where our customers really depend on us — same-day expediting, next-day expediting — and our customers build their business model around how quickly we can turn their parts.
Having a software to team up with so we can satisfy those customer demands — very critical to us. So teaming up with Steelhead was not an off-the-cuff decision, wasn't an off-the-whim decision. It was a very thought-out, methodical decision. We had the whole team think about it, decide, and we vetted several companies and chose Steelhead to continue what we do and try to actually improve that. Everything from receiving to order entry to tying those orders to past quotes — very fast.
We are constantly counting clicks: how many clicks does this take, how many pages does it get to to get the information we need? The less amount of clicks, the less amount of pages that we need to see — the better.
My name is Pong Shen. I've been with Twin Cities for about 14 years, and I do shipping, receiving here. Paperless. I get to use, you know, tablets — you know, it's nice. We have multiple tablets, computers, and they all can access to the same exact thing. Whether it's Department of Shipping, Receiving, Plating-wise — you know — so you can access to whichever department you might need to go to, and you can all do it from one device — whether it's a tablet, computer, or whatever it may be. I like that a lot.
Hi, my name is Hugh. I've been working at Twin City Plating for 3 years now. I do some accounting, order entry, and quoting for Twin City Plating. Steelhead has been great. I think that it's a lot fewer clicks than what we originally used, and the whole multiple tab is very easy to navigate. Just from Steelhead, you can edit everything in Steelhead and just send it to the customer. I think the speed of Steelhead is very nice. Like I said, with the whole search-all — it's everything is quick.
We were sold that we would be deployed in 5 weeks. Here we sit 5 weeks later, and we are deployed and operating all our orders now — all of our quotes, all of our invoices are through Steelhead. Committed us an individual on-site for 5 weeks full-time. As every hurdle came, every challenge came, they were right there on the line to solve that. So again, I'll revert back to — it's a nerve-wracking change. You ask for support — there is support there. It's not someone overseas or someone a phone call or a Skype away — they're here with you. So it's very supportive.
We are Twin City Plating, and our shop runs on Steelhead.
